A delicious twist on traditional lasagna with a Venezuelan flair.

Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with onion and garlic.
  4. Add tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper to the skillet; simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Spread a layer of meat sauce in a baking dish, layer with noodles, then ricotta, then mozzarella.
  6. Repeat layers, finishing with mozzarella on top.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Letting the lasagna rest allows the layers to set better.
