Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 pound ground beef or lamb
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, knead into a dough.
  2. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  3. In a skillet, cook the ground beef or lamb with onions and red bell pepper until browned. Add cumin and paprika, mix well.
  4. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  5. Divide the dough into equal parts and roll each into an oval shape.
  6. Add the meat mixture on top, leaving some edges for the crust. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, substitute the meat with roasted vegetables or mushrooms.
  • Serve with a side of yogurt or a fresh salad.
