- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 pound ground beef or lamb
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, knead into a dough.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef or lamb with onions and red bell pepper until browned. Add cumin and paprika, mix well.
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Divide the dough into equal parts and roll each into an oval shape.
- Add the meat mixture on top, leaving some edges for the crust. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, substitute the meat with roasted vegetables or mushrooms.
- Serve with a side of yogurt or a fresh salad.
