- 4 turkey thighs
- 1 cup schmaltz (rendered chicken fat)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
- 1 tablespoon black peppercorns
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a large, oven-safe pot, combine the turkey thighs, schmaltz, garlic, thyme, peppercorns, and salt.
- Cover the pot and place it in the preheated oven.
- Cook for about 3-4 hours, until the turkey is tender and falling off the bone.
- Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.
Notes
- Schmaltz can be made by rendering chicken skin and fat.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator submerged in the fat.
- Serve with crusty bread for a complete meal.
