Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
- In a large Dutch oven, combine the schmaltz, garlic, onion, thyme, salt, and pepper over low heat.
- Add the turkey thighs to the pot, ensuring they are completely submerged in schmaltz.
- Cover the pot and transfer it to the oven.
- Cook for about 4 to 5 hours, or until the turkey is fork-tender.
- Remove the pot from the oven, let it cool, and store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
