A sweet and crunchy treat made with roasted sunflower seeds.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Bring to a boil and cook until it reaches the hard crack stage, about 300°F (150°C).
  3. Remove from heat and stir in sunflower seeds, butter, and vanilla.
  4. Pour mixture onto a greased baking sheet and spread evenly.
  5. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
