- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons matcha powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm milk
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, pureed
- 1/2 cup cream cheese
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit until bubbly.
- In another bowl, mix flour, matcha powder, sugar, and salt.
- Add yeast mixture, warm water, and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle.
- Spread the strawberry puree over the dough.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla, then spread over the strawberry layer.
- Roll the dough tightly and slice into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden.
- Let cool and serve.
Notes
- These rolls can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Adding extra strawberries on top makes for a beautiful presentation.
- For a vegan version, substitute dairy ingredients with plant-based alternatives.
