- 12 large pasta shells
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, spinach, Parmesan, mozzarella, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff each shell with the ricotta mixture.
- Spread 1 cup of tomato sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Arrange the stuffed shells in the dish and top with remaining tomato sauce.
- Sprinkle with fresh basil and additional mozzarella if desired.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until heated through and cheese is bubbly.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add garlic or Italian herbs to the filling.
- Use fresh mozzarella for a creamier texture.
