- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 3 tablespoons heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vanilla extract, and vinegar.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting, beat the butter until creamy, then gradually add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream until smooth and fluffy.
- Once the cakes are completely cooled, frost the top of one layer, place the second layer on top, and frost the top and sides as desired.
Notes
- This cake can be made a day in advance and stored in an airtight container.
- For a richer flavor, use high-quality vanilla extract.
