- 4 green plantains
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup olives, chopped
- 1/4 cup cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Peel and slice the plantains, then boil them until soft.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onion, garlic, and bell pepper.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in spices, tomato sauce, and olives.
- Mash the boiled plantains and form them into cups.
- Fill the plantain cups with the beef mixture and top with cheese.
- Bake at 375°F for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted.
Notes
- Make sure to use green plantains for the best texture.
- This dish can be made vegetarian by using lentils instead of meat.
- Serve with avocado or a side salad for a complete meal.
