- 2 pounds potatoes
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Peel and boil the potatoes until tender. Drain and let cool.
- Once cool, mash the potatoes until smooth.
- In a bowl, combine mashed potatoes, flour, egg, salt, and pepper to form a dough.
- Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into balls.
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.
- Add the dumplings and cook until they float to the surface, about 10-15 minutes.
- Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and let drain.
- Heat butter in a skillet and toss the dumplings with butter and parsley before serving.

- Serve with gravy or melted butter.
- For a flavorful twist, add cooked meat or herbs to the dumpling mixture.
