A traditional Norwegian dessert that’s rich and creamy, perfect for special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 egg yolks

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream and sugar. Heat over medium heat until sugar has dissolved.
  2. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg yolks and milk until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the egg mixture to the cream mixture, stirring constantly.
  5. Cook over low heat until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool before refrigerating.

Notes

  • Can be topped with fresh berries or whipped cream.
