- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup almond butter
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup coconut cream
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon sugar for caramelizing
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the rolled oats, almond butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Press the mixture into a lined baking dish and set it in the refrigerator to firm up.
- In a saucepan, heat the coconut cream and stir in the cornstarch until smooth and thick.
- Spread the coconut mixture over the oat base and refrigerate until set.
- Before serving, sprinkle a layer of sugar on top and use a kitchen torch to caramelize it until golden brown.
Notes
- For a chocolate version, add cocoa powder to the oat mixture.
- Make sure to refrigerate the bars for at least 2 hours before serving.
