Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup coconut cream
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon sugar for caramelizing

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the rolled oats, almond butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  2. Press the mixture into a lined baking dish and set it in the refrigerator to firm up.
  3. In a saucepan, heat the coconut cream and stir in the cornstarch until smooth and thick.
  4. Spread the coconut mixture over the oat base and refrigerate until set.
  5. Before serving, sprinkle a layer of sugar on top and use a kitchen torch to caramelize it until golden brown.

Notes

  • For a chocolate version, add cocoa powder to the oat mixture.
  • Make sure to refrigerate the bars for at least 2 hours before serving.
