- 1 cup milk
- 2 Earl Grey tea bags
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for glazing)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glazing)
Instructions
- Heat 1 cup of milk and steep 2 Earl Grey tea bags in it for 5 minutes, then remove the bags and let the milk cool.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, vanilla extract, flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the softened butter, egg, and cooled milk to the dry ingredients, mixing until well combined.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into rolls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk in a small bowl to create the glaze, and drizzle over the warm rolls.
Notes
- For a stronger tea flavor, steep the tea bags longer.
- Ensure the butter is at room temperature for easier mixing.
- These rolls are best served warm.
