Delicious and unique London Fog Rolls infused with the classic flavors of Earl Grey tea and vanilla.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 rolls 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 Earl Grey tea bags
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for glazing)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glazing)

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 cup of milk and steep 2 Earl Grey tea bags in it for 5 minutes, then remove the bags and let the milk cool.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, vanilla extract, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the softened butter, egg, and cooled milk to the dry ingredients, mixing until well combined.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thick.
  5. Cut the dough into rolls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Mix powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk in a small bowl to create the glaze, and drizzle over the warm rolls.

Notes

  • For a stronger tea flavor, steep the tea bags longer.
  • Ensure the butter is at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • These rolls are best served warm.
