- 4 cups milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- oil for frying
- 1 cup cornstarch
Instructions
- In a saucepan, heat the milk with sugar and vanilla until it simmers.
- In a bowl, mix flour and cornstarch, then gradually add to milk mixture.
- Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Pour into a dish and let it cool.
- Once set, cut into squares, then dip in beaten eggs and coat with cinnamon-sugar.
- Fry in hot oil until golden brown, then drain on paper towels.
Notes
- Let the leche frita cool completely before cutting.
- Serve with additional cinnamon-sugar on top for extra flavor.
