A delicious and satisfying Korean Steak Sandwich featuring marinated steak, fresh vegetables, and a flavorful sauce.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound flank steak
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 4 sandwich rolls
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 cucumber, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, sesame oil, and black pepper. Marinate the flank steak in this mixture for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Grill the marinated steak on high heat for about 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest before slicing.
  3. In a skillet, sauté onion and bell pepper until softened.
  4. Combine mayonnaise and gochujang to make a spicy sauce.
  5. Slice the sandwich rolls and spread the spicy sauce inside.
  6. Layer the sliced steak, sautéed vegetables, and cucumber in the rolls.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, let the steak marinate overnight.
  • Pair with a side of kimchi for a complete meal.
