A delightful twist on traditional tiramisu using hot cross buns, perfect for Easter celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 4 hot cross buns
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Slice the hot cross buns in half and dip each half in the coffee.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until smooth.
  3. Layer half of the soaked hot cross buns in a dish.
  4. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the buns.
  5. Add another layer of the soaked buns and top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  6. Sift cocoa powder over the top layer.
  7. Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use espresso instead of brewed coffee.
  • Garnish with chocolate shavings or whipped cream if desired.
