Delicious homemade versions of the classic Cadbury Creme Eggs, filled with a sweet and creamy center.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • yellow food coloring, to taste
  • white food coloring, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix powdered sugar, corn syrup, butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Divide mixture in half; color half with yellow food coloring for the yolk.
  3. Shape both mixtures into egg shapes and chill until firm.
  4. Melt milk chocolate chips with coconut oil in a double boiler.
  5. Dip chilled eggs in chocolate and set on wax paper to harden.
  6. Once hardened, use remaining melted chocolate to create decorative lines if desired.
