- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup scallions, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons freshly grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons tamari or soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for topping)
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken with panko breadcrumbs, chopped scallions, grated ginger, tamari, sesame oil, maple syrup, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
- Stir the mixture until everything is evenly incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into small balls, roughly 1 inch in size, and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are fully cooked and have a nice golden color.
- Once done, take them out of the oven and sprinkle sesame seeds on top, adding chopped cilantro if desired.
- Serve these delightful bites warm for a delicious treat.
Notes
- For an added kick, mix in a teaspoon of chili paste or crushed red pepper flakes into the chicken mixture.
- These chicken bites can be enjoyed over a bed of steamed rice or quinoa, or wrapped in lettuce for a fresh, lighter meal.
