- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until smooth.
- Mix in flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- Press the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- While the crust cools, combine granulated sugar and heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
- Pour the chocolate mixture over the baked crust and refrigerate until set.
Notes
- Make sure to let the squares cool completely before cutting.
- Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
