Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Mix in flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  4. Press the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  5. While the crust cools, combine granulated sugar and heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
  8. Pour the chocolate mixture over the baked crust and refrigerate until set.
