- 1 pound fresh green beans
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook until bright green and tender, about 3-4 minutes.
- Drain and immediately plunge beans into an ice bath to stop cooking.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add drained green beans and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional minute.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle slivered almonds on top before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- These beans can be made ahead of time and reheated gently.
