- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup raspberry jam
- 1 tablespoon rose water
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 egg yolk, for egg wash
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until foamy.
- Mix flour and salt in a large bowl. Create a well in the center.
- Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg into the well. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Roll out dough and spread cream cheese and raspberry jam over it.
- Roll tightly into a log and slice into rounds.
- Place buns on a baking tray, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and brush buns with egg wash.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and rose water for glaze and drizzle over cooled buns.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a few drops of rose essence.
- These buns are best served warm.
