A delightful recipe combining raspberry and rose flavors into soft, fluffy cheesecake buns.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup raspberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon rose water
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 egg yolk, for egg wash

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until foamy.
  2. Mix flour and salt in a large bowl. Create a well in the center.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg into the well. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
  6. Roll out dough and spread cream cheese and raspberry jam over it.
  7. Roll tightly into a log and slice into rounds.
  8. Place buns on a baking tray, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and brush buns with egg wash.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Mix powdered sugar and rose water for glaze and drizzle over cooled buns.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a few drops of rose essence.
  • These buns are best served warm.
