Delicious homemade salted caramel pop tart bars that are easy to make and utterly satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, butter, egg, vanilla, and salt until a dough forms.
  3. Press half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared dish.
  4. Spread salted caramel sauce over the dough layer.
  5. Crumble the remaining dough on top of the caramel.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool before drizzling with a mixture of powdered sugar and milk.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use brown sugar instead of granulated sugar.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
