Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for finishing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt, mixing them well and setting the mixture aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until the mixture is airy and light, about 3-4 minutes.
- Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until everything is smoothly blended.
- Slowly introduce the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined, then gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for approximately 10-12 minutes, or until the edges appear firm while the centers remain soft.
- Allow the bites to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before moving them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cool, lightly sprinkle the chocolate bliss bites with powdered sugar for a delightful finish.
Notes
- For a refreshing flavor, mix in 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint extract.
- Experiment by swapping semi-sweet chocolate chips with white chocolate or peanut butter chips for a unique twist.
