- 1/4 cup ube puree
- 2 cups bread flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup tangzhong (cooked flour and water mixture)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine water and flour to make tangzhong, cook until thickened.
- Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
- Add milk, egg, ube puree, and tangzhong to the dry ingredients, mix until combined.
- Knead the dough until smooth, then let it rise until doubled in size.
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan.
- Allow to rise again until it has risen above the pan.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 30-35 minutes.
- Cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Store bread in an airtight container for up to three days.
- For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of ube powder on top before baking.
