Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and grease a cake pan.
- In a bowl, mix the dried fruits, nuts, and candied peel.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Cream the butter and brown sugar together, then mix in the eggs and vanilla.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, followed by the fruit mixture and cider.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool before removing it from the pan.
