Ingredients

  • 2 cups red velvet cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the red velvet cake mix, melted butter, and egg until well combined.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased cheesecake pan.
  4. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth, then add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cake layer.
  6. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then fold in the cocoa powder and chocolate chips.
  7. Spread the whipped cream mixture over the cream cheese layer.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes, then let cool and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
