- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon instant espresso powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in.
- Add the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, and espresso powder to the banana mixture and stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

- The bread can be stored in an airtight container for up to five days.
- For an extra chocolatey flavor, add chocolate chips to the batter.
- This recipe can be made dairy-free by substituting the butter with coconut oil.
