- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk, room temperature
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tablespoons blue food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Frost with your favorite cream cheese frosting.
