- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, then add brown sugar and stir until dissolved.
- Arrange sliced bananas in the bottom of a greased cake pan and pour the caramel mixture over them.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk and eggs to dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
- Pour batter over the caramelized bananas in the pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes, then invert onto a plate and serve.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the batter.
- This cake is best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
