- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour and cocoa powder.
- In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg yolk and mix until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until a dough forms.
- Press the dough into a tart pan and bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, heat heavy cream in a saucepan until just boiling.
- Remove from heat and pour over chopped chocolate, letting it sit for a few minutes.
- Add vanilla extract and stir until smooth.
- Pour the chocolate filling into the baked tart shell and let cool at room temperature.
- Refrigerate until set, then serve.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet.
- Serve with whipped cream or fresh berries for an extra touch.
