  • 1 cup hazelnut butter
  • 1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and flour until well coated. Set aside to marinate for about 10 minutes.
  3. Roll out the pie crust on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut the dough into four equal circles, about 6 inches in diameter.
  4. Spread about 1/4 cup of hazelnut butter in the center of each dough circle, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  5. Arrange the marinated apple slices on top of the hazelnut butter, overlapping them slightly.
  6. Fold the edges of the dough over the apples, pleating as necessary to create a rustic edge. Brush the exposed dough with the beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
  7. Place the galettes on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  8. Let the galettes cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
